The fired Goodwill Camporee was held in 1992 at Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia between Singapore and Indonesia Scouts. About 100 campers took part. Since then, 12 such camporees were held at different campsites in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia hosted by the respective scout associations of these countries. The numbers grew to more than a thousand campers. This year the Goodwill Camporee is scheduled to be held from Friday, 30 November 2007 to Tuesday, 4 December 2007 at Taman Rimba Kiara, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Scout from the following countries are invited to participate: Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia (the host), Maldives, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. The host State Scout Association of Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (WPKL) is inviting about 1000 participants to the Camporee this year.
2. Campsite
Taman Rimba Kiara is a beautiful park in Kuala Lumpur. The WPKL has acquired part of the Park to develop as Scout Campsite without affecting the natural beauty of the Park. It is in the central part of the KL City which has many attractions for tourists. The host has planned sightseeing trips for the Campers too.
3. Post Camporee
After the Camporee, Singapore contingent will proceed to Penang from 5 to 7 December 2007 for sightseeing and goodwill visit to local Scout Groups.
4. Programme
The proposed itinerary will be as follows: - (subject to changes)
30-11-07 (Fri): Departure in the morning for KL, Malaysia
Check in at noon and camp development. Indonesian Night.
01-12-07 (Sat): Opening Ceremony; Camporee Activities; Singapore Night.
02-12-07 (Sun): Camporee Activities and Sightseeing; Thailand Night.
03-12-07 (Mon): Camporee Activities and Sightseeing; International Night.
04-12-07 (Tue): Camporee Activities and Sightseeing; Grand Goodwill Night. Closing Ceremony; Departure for Penang.
05-12-07 (Wed): Arrival at Penang; Sightseeing.
06-12-07 (Thur): Sightseeing; Joint Activities; Joint Campfire.
07-12-07 (Fri): Return to Singapore via Ipoh.
5. Participation
All registered members: Scouts, Venture Scouts, Rover Scouts and Adult Leaders are eligible to participate. We plan to contingent of 200 participants.
6. Camporee Fee
The Camporee Fee is S$380, which includes camping fees, transport, all meals in the camp, accommodation, sightseeing, travel insurance, souvenir programme, camporee T-shirt, souvenir badges, activities badges, certificate and others.
7. Application
Application must be submitted using the attached Application Form A and Form B, duly endorsed by the Scout Leader-in-charge and the Sponsoring Authority of the Scout Group, together with the Camporee Fee made payable to “The Singapore Scout Association”. The Camporee Fee will not be fully refunded for withdrawal for any reason within 4 weeks before the commencement of the Camporee. There will NOT be any refund for withdrawal within 2 weeks before the commencement of the Camporee. Form A must be accompanied by the photocopy of the page of the particulars of the applicant and the page which indicates expiry date of the passport if it has been renew of extended.

Since we are only allocated 200 places please send in your application early if you are interested to participate. You may indicate your intention to participate by using the Reply Slip and then submit the official application before the closing date.

Campfire RI02: It was fun isn't it ? hmm I bet Gary enjoy the games. As the EO, i hope that all scouts will enjoy the campfire and see it as a period of time where all the scouts can have fun together.we rarely have this kind of moments in our other activities and i hope that more people will participate in recent campfires. The next campfire should be on 25/8/2007 NUS. Mr seetoh will be in charge. Well i feel that mr seetoh as our new scout teacher communicate with us well with "advice" to our campfire. Thx to him we have fun. Anyway this is the 1st time I putting up this comment box beside for scouts to comment on their recent activities!!
